‘Discovering The Undiscovered’

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

SHY Martin is an artist we’ve covered the most since launching the Gems & Secrets platform. From penning some of our favorite songs within the last decade while simultaneously collecting billions of streams from listeners all around the world, it would seem the artist would eventually start to fill the pressure—and while we’re not suggesting the musician doesn’t feel any pressure within her creative process—one thing is for sure… SHY Martin continues to hold a level of quality and integrity within her work that never loses its magic.

“I feel like I‘ve become better at respecting myself and my energy during the last year, I’ve learnt to move away from situations and people that don't make me happy. I’ve never been good at letting relationships go and as a songwriter I’ve always gone back to old relationships trying to figure out why they went wrong or if I could have done something differently to change the outcome. This song is the first one I’ve written about accepting it for what it is instead of dwelling on the past” — SHY Martin

With her latest, titled “Remember you were the one”, SHY Martin hits a darker tone than what we’ve heard in recent past. It’s eccentric and bold and we love the direction and energy SHY Martin delivers throughout her performance. Accompanying the new single is a DIY lyric music video that blends screenshots and film photos together to create a lifestyle look of the artist, and we gotta say, we love how it came out.

Check out the new single for yourself and let us know what you think down below. Don’t forget to connect with SHY Martin online to stay up to date on any upcoming releases and enjoy!

Listen to this song in our official Spotify playlist:

‘Discovering The Undiscovered’

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

18-year-old newcomer Hunter Moreau shines with her new single 'Hazy'. Boasting glistening synths and delicate vocals, the track features production by Doug Schadt who’s writing credits boast artists like Maggie Rogers, Ashe, and SHAED. 'Hazy' is a rich and emotive alt-pop hit. It’s smooth and catchy whilst still being texturally intricate, emotionally uplifting, and even feels dense with minimal tendencies.

"As simple as it may sound, 'Hazy' is about the pure bliss of summer nights,” shares Moreau, "The excitement of not caring how exactly you’re going to get home, or where you even are, but just knowing that you want whatever feeling this is to last forever."

The new single is a beautifully written piece of work, accompanied by an equally hazy visual - we’re confident you’ll love this one just as much as we do. Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think. Don’t forget to connect with Hunter Moreau online to stay up to date and enjoy!

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

SHY Martin has grown to be something quite special. Not only to us, but to her thousands of fans from all over the world. Always writing with a sharpened pen, the energy and passion behind her lyricism always tends to cut deep. From her emotional writing style to her passionate vocal performance, SHY Martin continues to leave us in awe with the release of every new single. Her latest, titled “Break With Me” exceeds our expectations and goes above and beyond.

“This year has been overwhelming in many ways. For the first time in years, I have spent a lot of time with myself and taken the space to reflect. I have thought a lot about how these strange times we are in have changed so many relationships, some that have become stronger, and others that have broken down. We started writing "Break With Me" one summer evening in the car on the way home from a lake, but I relate to it now more than ever", says SHY Martin. “During the year, I also thought about how I want to work with my music and chose to start my own record label to have full freedom every step of the way. This is the first song I will release on my own label, so it feels very special.”

Whether you’re a returning fan or a new one, SHY Martin’s incredible talent cannot go unnoticed. Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think down below. Don’t forget to connect with the artist online to stay up to date on any upcoming projects and enjoy!

Perfect for those upcoming summer days of laying in the sun and letting loose. You just can’t go wrong with this track.

“magic wand was our first collaboration after not having seen each other for almost a decade. We talked about our current relational statuses and found we were on opposite sides of our situations. Listen to this song in our official Spotify playlist:

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

New artist on the block Charlie Houston follows the success of “Calls”—the artist’s recent debut single—with an upbeat new track titled “Things”. Reflecting on her youthful insecurities and unrequited affection with raw vulnerability, Charlie delivers a smooth downtempo indie hit that’s undeniably stylish.

"The song is sort of about becoming so infatuated with someone that you begin to lose sight of who you are, also comparing yourself to the kind of person you think they want, and trying to become that" says Houston.

The new song boasts delicate vocal lines and gentle guitar licks with a tight, calming flow from beginning and to end. And while the song grabs us from the start and holds us over until the very end. It’s safe to say we’ll be looking forward to what Charlie does next soon, but in the meantime, we’ll just keep “Things” on repeat.
