WhoMadeWho - I Don't Know

Once again playing on the fringes of pop, Danish experimental trio, WhoMadeWho (Embassy of Music), have made an explosive comeback with "I Don’t Know". The single was co-produced by ambitious, electronic twosome, Kenton Slash Demon (Kompakt, True Panther Sounds) and is the band’s first new studio music in almost one and a half years, since the release of Hi & Low (2016). "I Don't Know" is accompanied by a heady selection of remixes from Adana Twins (Exploited), Stereocalypse(Get Physical Music) , Fur Coat (BPitch Control, Crosstown Rebels, Hot Creations) and Margot (Border Community, Kill The DJ), and a breathtaking live performance captured at Northside Festival.

"I Don’t Know was made in a period where we basically just wanted to try to produce songs in ways that we were not used to. We had an idea of trying to compose a song based on vocal hooks and suddenly we had a very special sounding demo track were most melodic parts are made by vocals which are edited and manipulated. The hook "I Don’t Know” was made because I didn’t know what to sing. Somehow that hook was so strong that I quickly built the lyric around it. Instantly it gave me memories of when I was stuck in transit travelling to Guadalajara. A situation where I had lost my passport and was refused to travel through the US by Homeland Security… so emotionally that’s the essence of the song. Threw in lyrical references to the Danish poem Memphis Station by Danish poet Johannes V Jensen together with lyricist Gisli Gislason afterwards. All in all, this song was made in thirty minutes, in an intuitive flow."

MÁDAM shares incredible new visual for debut single "Rise Up"

One of our favorite new artists (MÁDAM) is back with an incredible new music video for the artist's debut single "Rise Up". A song characterized by motivation, inspiration, unity, and good vibes. MÁDAM explains "Music should be the gate to a non divisive world, where all are accepted for who they are or who they want to become. We live in world full of barriers and guide lines, where one needs to follow the rules of what and who they should or shouldn't be. Music is our common ground, which is why the lyrics of "Rise Up" are simple and relatable. Every one has the right to understand and use these words for what motivates them to continue fighting and continue being who they wish to be. It's simple because that's how life should be with music. It's inclusive, it's relatable and it's what you want it to be." 

The Music Video of "Rise Up" is a clear visual explanation for what MÁDAM verbalizes. It shows the reality and daily lives of New York, a city filled with culture, richness of races, hardships, and warriors. Every day unique people fighting for their hopes and dreams. It shows the naked reality of such, which is something rare to see. It promotes unity and motivation to being one's true self. 

MÁDAM also explains that as a Music Therapist as well as a performer, she always believed in the power music had on people’s lives, because of the power it had on her own life. For that reason she decided to write music with a deeper level of connection and empathy. “Music has the power to unite, as well as create a safe an accepting environment. It allows us to communicate in an universal language and express our true selves in a unique way.”

We love Haley Vassar's new single "In My Feelings"

Haley Vassar stepped on the scene with her debut single “In My Feelings" - a vibey r&b tinged pop track that showcases the young artist’s velvety vocals and features atmospheric beats with retro elements like the break of a soaring guitar solo. 

While “In My Feelings" may be Haley's first formal effort, she is no amateur when it comes to music. The 18-year-old grew up in the songwriting mecca of Nashville among a family of musicians. However, it was a spontaneous demo-recording last year with a local band that inspired Haley to pursue her career professionally. Waving goodbye to high school, Haleyembraced a senior year of homeschooling and began splitting her time between Nashville and New York, hitting the studio any chance she got. Haley quickly discovered a unique sound, stepping away from the country roots she grew up around to find her own musical footing. Heavily inspired by those who came before her, Haley is hard at work writing and recording her first project – a collection of music that straddles the old and the new. Pop music infused with classic influence, seeking to combine the elements of rock, r&b, dance, and the blues.
