KAIJA - Pretty Girls [Music Video]

With a recent premiere on Canada's longest-running urban site HipHopCanada.com, comes the solo video debut from Canadian-based Kiwi singer-songwriter Kaija (pronounced ka-ya). After gaining experience in her hometown of Auckland, New Zealand – as a member of the duo Unwonted, and songwriting for other artists – the 20-year-old talent made the decision to relocate to Canada to pursue her dreams.

It was the insinuation that someone’s intelligence or life experiences were dictated by their beauty – or lack thereof – which pushed a button in Kaija that would be the creative spark behind the record. And it wasn’t the first time she had been confronted with this view, which gave her even more aspirations to counter the message with the truth. It was Kaija’s way of saying, “while it may be the expectation, life isn’t easy for pretty girls.”
