Swedish duo, Newtimers - made up of Andreas Brutton Cavaco (vocals) & Tim Lundblad (drums/prodution) - released their debut EP as Newtimers in 2015. The duo previously worked together dated as far back as 2004 where they were writing songs for other artists.

‘She’s A Gun’ - the lead single from their debut EP clocked up nearly 6 million streams on YouTube. Their style can be described as a mash of RnB, classic 80s pop, and soul. It's infectiously catchy and we've been obsessed with their sound since hearing their new song 'Game Over' earlier this month. Their music has earned them an army of fans longing for a debut album and now we're right behind them. 

Game Over is a song about beautiful surfaces and realising there’s not always very much underneath, as the band explain: “We were both dating models around the same time, both of them living for the lens and all that's portrayed in pictures. We didn't fit into the frame and neither did they actually, all you really saw was ego. Fakeness got real. We broke up. And it resulted in Game Over”

Super producers Wuki & Wax Motif teamed up on their latest release, 'Buns'. The track features chopped up verses from rapper Earlly Mac in a jersey club fashion. It's a power anthem for all the breakbeat/jersey club music lovers out there and if you're at all familiar with Wuki and Wax Motif's production style, you'll know how widely popular the two artists are in the bass music community. Being able to branch out and work with other styles of dance music is something the two artists are widely known for and they did a brilliant job diving into this breakbeat/jersey style format. Hopefully, we'll see more collabs from the artists in the future - as we should know by now - everything they have put out has been, 🔥.

Stay is a modern spin on a timeless plea. For you heartbroken lovers out there, this is your song.

Gotta love the bubbly opening. Immediately dropping in with arpeggiating sine waves and a loving female voice, the verse drops out of texture into NYA's extremely well trained vocals keeps us focused on the present. The song is perfect for ritzy night-clubs. The song itself is a classic pop feel: verse, pre-chorus, chorus, never feeding us with the dissonant drop phrases pervading the rest of EDM, but still holding us close with electronic textures. The whole musical spectacle makes the listener feel well taken care of blending beautifully with a kind of carelessness. Her lover is leaving, but the whole song is upbeat..so who cares, kinda? "I wanted you to stay", but you didn't. The POV knows clearly that her new flame is going to be a "memory" and I think it reminds us all to focus on the intangibility of the moment and find what happiness we can in that. 

Check out masterfully produced artist Monti with her new single "Echo ft Josh Stevens"

From her bio, Monti was born into an abusive broken home filled with drugs and alcoholism, Monti was a runaway who dodged foster care systems living off and on the streets, escaping a life of gangs, mental hospitals, group homes, and drug and alcohol abuse. Her turbulent past is brilliantly conveyed in her debut song Echo with moody synths and electro-pop. 

Coming from that sort of past to rock with these vocals and this well-produced of a track is astounding. Echo was produced by composer Josh Stevens (Calvin Harris, LMFAO, The Game). There is clearly pain in the piano rock intro, but the chorus of "we are the voiceless" shows that she truly sings for her fans and is doing her best to help them out and "make it". The chorus is epic and powerful, backing Monti with adults and children fighting through their plight. Monti, for her part, slays it with Sia and Jessie J power in her soaring vocals, coming as a vibrant surprise as the chorus comes back in. As a composition, the break with the R&B style almost sing-songy male comes at a very refreshing point in the song before our girl Monti comes back in and just decimates with her lungs again.

Keep your ear on this girl folks, she's doing good things.

Cheetah Bay's "100 Wrongs" is a soulful song of redemption

"I ain't broken" the song starts. The organ chords are reminiscient of 40s Gospel. The opening lines bring you into a subtle state of reflection in a high falsetto. As the drums come in, a more clear soul vox line bring that reflection up close and center with your head held high. The sense of triumphant is too much for the slow chorus and speeds into inspiring rap/hip hop lyrics. As the second chorus comes in, the whole song takes on a whole new mystic feel. Minimal and surreal, the funky bass grounds us for a moment into familiar 4 and 8 bar phrases before focusing the texture back on the baritone singers and glassy piano with panned clave interwoven with modular sounds that span the rest of the song. 

100 Wrongs is a great love making song. A gentle, driving beat with a multitude of instruments providing different biases of movement for however you need to groove.

Aash Mehta's "No Secrets" (ft. Alexa Lusader) is an inspiring track about letting go of a damaging past. Listen if you're ready to feel great about yourself

No Secrets is the cathartic, empowering track of releasing yourself from sadness and hiding. As lyricist Alexa Lusader says “I was held captive by this secret” and freed himself by being honest. The track starts with gentle, melancholy pads with a rising vocal line on the upbeat of the measure before the verse begins, pushing us forward through the song’s story. A happy understanding that his secret made him stronger than he ever thought he’d feel, the drop comes at an emotional point in his hero’s journey, bringing the boon from his darkness to us on the dance floor.

No Secrets is a top-notch track. Feminine vocals with Flume-style pulsing synths, blends well in the drops reminiscent of early 2010’s dubstep, complete soaring sing-along vocals in a triumphant end.

Great track if you’re coming out of a transitory phase in your life.

MSG has "got your back" with an empowering new tune- "Got My Back"

Here’s a hip-hop tune straight from the underground. A vintage piano intro is a textural appoggiatura before it drops into a real talk on MSG’s growth. The simple beat paves the way for aggressive and deep lyrics. The piano contrasts nicely with the minimal hip hop drum kit. The occasional shift in texture comes in the chorus and in the second verse with a classical guitar riff, but generally, this song is built to vibe. With the central theme of smoking weed centered around taking care of oneself, 'Got My Back' is a great tune to work, travel, or groove to.

LUXXURY drops power anthem 'Pleasure!' and it's a must hear

We have another gem for you today from LUXXURY. The Los Angeles based DJ/producer continues his streak of quality disco singles, this time featuring shimmering Rhodes, funky bass guitars, and groovy beats. Collaborators, Zach Robinson and Becca Schack add their touch arming the Rhodes, flute solo, and the background vocals (the song has literally just one, single word).

The production here is next level and we've been following LUXXURY since his earlier work on Soundcloud back in 2013. Where he was dropping a series of unofficial bootleg remixes on an empty Soundcloud profile. Using only original multitrack stems for a number of famous songs including Eagles' "Hotel California” Duran Duran's "Girl on Film” and many more, they were called "LUXXURY edits” and they immediately caused a sensation in the disco underground.
