Watch Daniella Mason's new music video for 'Human' right here!

August 17, 2018 by Gems Secrets in Pop

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Daniella Mason is no stranger to the Gems & Secrets platform. Today, we are thrilled to share her best work yet. Titled 'Human', we immediately fall in love with Daniella's incredible voice. Her lyrical energy and writing style will tug at the strings of your heart and fill you up with happiness.

Accompanying the new release, Daniella delivered a jaw-dropping music video that tops anything she's released to date. The cinematography, the story, and the level of quality is enough to turn anyone with good taste into a life-long fan. We're excited to share this new release with you and we look forward to covering more from Daniella in the coming months.

Don't forget to connect with Daniella Mason to stay up to date on any future releases and enjoy!

WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:

"'Human' was born out of an experience last year where I was working constantly, keeping my head down, clocking 90 hour weeks," Mason explains. "My husband always had the perfect timing of poking his head into my studio and asking me to dinner or simply sitting with me as I worked, and that human connection would always shake me from my work trance. One night I said to him, 'You remind me that I'm not a machine.' I wrote it down because I knew it would come back around. And as it usually unfolds, the song ended up having an even deeper meaning because it tells the larger story of how we've both become so much more alive, so much more human, because we decided to be vulnerable with each other. Neither of us are naturally inclined to be that way, so our daily choice to expose the things we're tempted to hide is truly the most beautiful of all of the journeys we've been on together."

One That I Want by Luc out now!! - Click here to listen

August 15, 2018 by Gems Secrets in Indie, Indie Pop

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Luc's music is meant to express the personal, the subjective experience, the importance of not needing to belong, and through that not-needing, belonging. 'One That I Want' depicts the process of liking someone despite their not-fitting-in but rather being attracted to someone's lack of concern for how others perceive them. "I know you're uncool, but oh, you're the one that I want."

WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:

"The artworks for the series of singles forthcoming from Luc this summer feature pictures of cities and everyday life with slight distortions to mirror the message of the music: There are similarities for every individual experience, but they are not all the same."

WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:

“Dirty is my anthem for every girl that's been weighed down and wounded by the shame that's constantly inflicted on women. Every day, we are told that we are both “not enough” and “too much.” Growing up I really struggled to love myself and was constantly shamed for my body and my sexuality before I was even old enough to understand what was going on.”

Listen to Noah & Shagabond's new single 'Arouse' here

August 14, 2018 by Gems Secrets in R&B, Hip-Hop

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Well, here's the sad news—we were totally late in covering Noah's and Shagabond's latest release 'Arouse' but nonetheless, the beauty of great music is that it never expires. Released just last week, the new track is a moody slow jam with R&B styled drums and a sensual-like vocal performance that'll surely "arouse" your interests.

Buy link: https://NoahxShagabond.lnk.to/Arouse

We love the writing style from Noah and Shagabond's production style elevates the energy of the track in such a special and unique way. If you're a fan of the likes of Bryson Tiller, Miguel, or if you're simply just looking for a record to chill out and relax to, you found it.

WHAT THE PRODUCER HAS TO SAY:

“We decided to meet up in Toronto for some studio time last September. I had a bunch of beats I had been working on over the summer that I was really excited to show Noah, but only one really stood out at the time. During an overnight session at a low-key studio in Toronto’s East end, we basically hashed out the entire track's production, but couldn't get the lyrics down."

Ride the waves of 'Boogie Inferno' by Final DJS! - Enjoy here!

August 10, 2018 by Gems Secrets in Electronic, Disco, Nu-Disco, House

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

With tons of releases, Sebastian Stütz has rather been known for his 80's synth-wave productions in the past, and which made him a house-hold name in the disco and nu-disco era within the last six years on labels like Interscope, Kiez Beats, Compuphonic, NDYD Records, Wonder Stories or Sony Music Germany.

Imagine yourself riding down the beach side with rollerskates in the 80s. Disco music is coming from all over the place, sensual people dancing, ice cold drinks and an alluring sunset. This song takes you on a trip through decades of disco music. Chic, Sister Sledge, Giorgio Moroder....all of them coming together for a big party. Are you ready for the disco inferno?

Sebastian Stütz just released a single via Love Harder Records which charted on Traxsource and Beatport. Sebastian is also working on several new songs which will release two bootleg remixes within the next month 'Everything She Wants' by Wham! and 'Wicked Game' by Chris Isaak

Call Me Karizma releases catchy new pop single 'Life Of The Party'

August 10, 2018 by Gems Secrets in Electro Pop, Pop

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Call Me Karizma is the latest artist to land on our radar and we're so happy he did. Their new song 'Life Of The Party' is a simple and catchy new song that you'll enjoy more and more after every listen.

We love the production and the instrumentation, sure, but most importantly... what really pulled us in was Call Me Karizma's infectiously catchy writing style. We loved the lyricism and artist's personal reflection throughout the song. It's not only relatable, but it's also honest and packed with imagery.

It's an incredible song, I mean think about it. If you naturally start to bounce your head or hum along, that's generally a clear indication that the artist is doing something right.

So whether you're a fan of electro-pop, future-pop, or generally anything that's fun and easy-going, you will LOVE this. Call Me Karizma has a magic touch when it comes to songwriting and this new song proves just that.

We can't wait to hear more from Call Me Karizma in the coming months, but until then, I suppose we'll just have to keep 'Life Of The Party' on repeat. Enjoy!

WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:

“I wrote Life of the Party for the kids who feel alone. To let them know it is okay to stay inside and be by yourself. This song is a sad anthem for the delinquents.” - Call Me Karizma

The duo behind some of your favorite dance tracks released their debut single; Listen to Vcation's new single 'Lay Low' here

August 10, 2018 by Gems Secrets in Electro Pop, Electronic, Pop

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

It's Friday and we're still playing catch up but to make it up to you, we saved some of our favorite tracks over the last week or so to kick off your weekend proper.

We're huge fans of Summer. Why? Well, we love the pool parties, the sunshine, and of course, it's a great time for music. Having the right soundtrack is crucial for your day to day schedule and we make it our responsibility that you get only the best of the best.

And who does that better than super duo VCATION? Haven't heard of them? That's okay too—however, you should know they're directly behind some of the most iconic records in dance music.

Let's go back just within the last decade;

  • Swedish House Mafia's "Don't You Worry Child" and "Save the World"
  • Tiesto's "Red Lights,"
  • Martin Garrix's "Now That I've Found You"
  • Avicii's "Fade Into Darkness."

Pretty awesome right? We thought so too.

WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:

"However, it can be kinda depressing, and without being ignorant to what's going on in the world, it's sometimes okay to just be and dream away for a while." - VCATION

Download / Stream

IN SUMMARY:

The duo has a knack for creating catchy hits and whether you're a fan of dance music or not, VCATION's 'Lay Low' is the perfect pick me up to any mood. The powerful vocals, the catchy melodies, and of course the sounds of tomorrow, we can't wait to see what the duo has in store for us next.
