Sam Setton releases new single 'Gum' — Stream it here 🎶

Sam Setton, the singer/songwriter from NYC released a moody gem yesterday and we think you should check it out. Known for his incredible and heartfelt writing, Sam is a star in the making. Fusing intimate storytelling with his signature R&B production, Sam has the ability to stun an entire audience due to his voice and lyrical depth. So, if you’re looking for something warm and romantic, you’ve come to the right place.

On the title, Setton writes that he decided to call it "Gum” as the feelings of first falling in love can be "so amazing but also fleeting," reminiscent of "the burst of flavor when you first chew a piece of gum."

What we're watching: Your weekly movie and TV roundup (1.18.19)

MOVIES:

• Ghostbusters (1984): Let’s start with a throwback. First off, this is one of my all time favorite movies. If you haven’t seen it yet, go ahead and start your year off with this gem.

• Pleasentville (1998): As you can tell, I’ve been feeling a little nostalgic this week. Pleasentville was a pleasant surprise. With so much star power, I was surprised I only recently heard of this movie. Something that starts out very cheesy turns into a heartfelt social deconstruction of the 1950’s. (It’s streaming on Hulu)

• BlacKkKlansman (2018): Based on the true story of how the first black cop in Colorado Springs was able to join the KKK. I’ll be surprised if this one doesn’t get Oscar buzz. This film also has an ending that will make your jaw drop. (No spoilers)

TV SHOWS:

• Broad City: One of my absolute favorite comedies in recent memory. Very funny and very progressive. The last season premiers on January 24th. So...you got time.

• Future Man: This was a complete surprise from Hulu and the new season is currently happening. Produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, this comedy focuses on a boy who is transported to a video game. Sounds crazy because it totally is.

• Game of Thrones: The trailer for the last season dropped. If you’re a true fan, you’ve already seen it but if not, you can watch it here:

"We wanted it to look like a 90s VHS that was put on the VCR. Part of the charm was its fuzzy, imperfect look so apparent during that era. 'What Eva' embodies a strong DIY ethos and we the band, did most of the filming ourselves using a small handheld camcorder. Everything was filmed on location in the supermarket. There are no 3D models. The song and visual is also a homage to the strong visual elements often found in 90s music videos like Mc Solaar's 'New Western' and French hiphop outfit IAM's 'Je danse le Mia'. There is a surreal sequence in the video where we are surrounded by a kaleidoscopic display of supermarket products. To summarize, we had a complete blast filming this". — La Fine Equipe
