Egzod is searching for "The Way Out" on new melodic bass single, stream the new song here

October 03, 2022 by Gems Secrets in EDM, Electronic, Future Bass

Listen to this song in our official Spotify playlist:

‘Discovering The Undiscovered’

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Egzod delivered one of our favorite tracks this month. Titled “The Way Out”, this hard hitting melodic bass single captures a range of emotions that one could only describe as euphoric, dreamy, and pulsing with energy. From the lyrics to the build/drop, “The Way Out” will send chills up and down your spine.

"I’ve been finding a lot of inspiration in Hardwave in the past year as it is very cinematic but also combines both of my favorite influences: the melodic content from Trance and the heaviness of Trap. Bertie Scott sent over some toplines and "The Way Out" fitted perfectly on a track I was working on, both lyrically and melodically. ‘The Way Out’ is inspired by the feeling of something slipping away. A relationship you’re trying to hold on to, but there’s nothing you can do as it’s falling out of your grasp. You want to talk about it, try and fix what you can and pull it back, but sometimes that can be the hardest thing to do and there’s never the right time before it’s too late." - Egzod

If you’re looking for your next favorite track, you can’t go wrong with Egzod’s latest work. If only we could hear this gem live… hopefully one day soon. In the meantime, go ahead and check it out for yourself. Don’t forget to connect with Egzod online to stay up to date and enjoy!

Lyrah's "In The Leaves" will leave you speechless, stream the artist's new single here

September 23, 2022 by Gems Secrets in Bedroom Pop, Electronic, Pop

Listen to this song in our official Spotify playlist:

‘Discovering The Undiscovered’

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

This week our attention is on Lyrah’s brand new single “In The Leaves”. Showcasing a soothing, piano driven pop song infused with warm undertones, bouncy kick drums, and led by a beautiful, heartfelt lyrical experience. “In The Leaves” is one of those rare gems that’ll make you experience both heartache and joy simultaneously. A yearning for more and less out of life.

I wrote this song about a dream I had before I decided to quit my stable, full-time job.

In the dream I kept waking up outside, like on the sidewalk in San Francisco and in the leaves by a road. I kept choosing that over my bed or car, and it felt surprisingly calm when I’d wake up outside of my home.

I had a session with Benji of Slenderbodies and we talked about this dream and how it seemed to mirror my life choice of staying in the comfort of a full time job or leaving and being satisfied with less.

I quit the job and I kept the song.

— Lyrah

Lyrah demands more from her audience. She’s an artist willing to go the extra mile to tell the stories most important to her. Documenting the complicated nature of life while exploring every feeling and emotion that comes to light. From her storytelling to her visual and creative direction, Lyrah is truly something special. There’s no doubt incredible things are on the way, but until then, we’ll just have to keep this one on repeat.

Go ahead and check out “In The Leaves” for yourself and let us know what you think. Don’t forget to connect with Lyrah online to stay up to date and enjoy!

Sleeping Lion's new single explores post-breakup selfishness, stream "Hurt Nobody" here

September 23, 2022 by Gems Secrets in Bedroom Pop, Electro Pop, Pop

Listen to this song in our official Spotify playlist:

‘Discovering The Undiscovered’

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Looking for something to brighten up your day? Pop-adjacent duo Sleeping Lion have a brand new single out that we’re thrilled to share with you today. Titled “Hurt Nobody”, the track explores post-breakup selfishness, a feeling many of us know all too well. Topped with funky undertones, the track quickly grabs you and takes you for a ride.

"'Hurt Nobody' explores post-breakup selfishness with a vibe that is almost too-energetic & funky. The lyrics over-dramatize that state of emotional carelessness as if it were a crime movie - weaving the bouncy instrumentals with cinematic elements including a fake movie quote, 'Hollywood' sound effects, and a honky-tonk piano solo that sounds as if it were playing at the dive bar you found yourself in after an evening of bad decisions." — Sleeping Lion

“Hurt Nobody” is an infectious, upbeat tune that blends jazzy piano melodies, warm bass stabs, and hypnotizing lyrics… it’s safe to say you really can’t go wrong with this little gem. Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think. Don’t forget to connect with Sleeping Lion online to stay up to date and enjoy!

Kerala Dust debut their new label with visceral new single Pulse VI

September 16, 2022 by Toby Boston in Indietronica

Listen to this song in our official Spotify playlist:

‘Discovering The Undiscovered’

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Kerala Dust debuts their new record label Play It Again Sam with the texturally rich, organic new hit Pulse VI. The group blend their psychedelic rock, blues and techno influences into dark and moody atmospheres built for late-night drives or blurry mornings under the streetlights after a nightclub.

Lathered with vibes of Berlin where they reside, Kerala Dust captures a visceral psychedelia with their music, crafting a sound world that perfectly encapsulates a very specific moment, a band with a very poetic approach to the music. Pulse VI is no different, a song, as they put it, "about a couple in a tempestuous kind of love affair, driving on an old German motorway, somewhere on the outskirts of Berlin, a mix of nostalgia for the past, coupled with a melancholy for the lengths that we would go to feel anything at all".

Stream Pulse VI now, and keep an eye out for their North American tour with dates across September and October.
