Parisian five-piece Holy Oysters released their new single 'Methylene Blue' this week and we thought we would share this masterpiece of a song with you. Described by frontman Max Tribèche as “the most experimental song I’ve ever written,” ‘Methylene Blue’ is a celestial foray into the band’s offbeat psyche. Like their last single ‘Just So You Know,’ ‘Methylene Blue’ draws influence from ’00s R&B, reinterpreted through the filter of the band’s trademark psychedelic pop. “The high note is actually the highest note I’ve ever sung,” says Tribèche of the track’s otherworldly sound. “I literally had to act like an R&B diva in front of the mic. It was pretty ridiculous.” The result, in its flourishing soundscapes and heavenly melody, lands somewhere between NAO, FKA twigs and Mura Masa.
