Sam Setton shares exciting new single 'Santiago'

'Santiago' by Sam Setton Produced by: Alexander Glantz Mixed by: Jon Buscema Mastered by: Alex Psaroudakis Lyrics: (https://genius.com/Sam-setton-santiago-lyrics) *voice-note* [Verse 1] Ever since I touched down Ever since I lost the way your voice sounds Things are feeling strange in my body Sweating while I wait in the hotel lobby It was unexpected I didn't think I'd cry from your message Frozen from the cold when I landed Summer comes and goes And I barley understand it [Pre-Chorus] You remind me You remind me of a better day Of a better day [Chorus] I left my heart in Santiago But you'll be with me wherever I go You'll be with me wherever I go So I'll wait (yeah) [Verse 2] Ever since we lost touch Ever since you sensed that I was caught up Things are not the same in my body I wonder if you know that I’m with somebody I just couldn't help it I couldn't bring myself to reject it, no But you and her are not the same to me And I think it should be something you could see [Pre-Chorus] You remind me You remind me of a better day Of a better day [Chorus] I left my heart in Santiago But you'll be with me wherever I go You'll be with me wherever I go So I'll wait (yeah) [Bridge] We were so invested, baby I feel helpless 6,000 miles away Look at what you did to me So young, so young, so young 6,000 miles away *voice-note* [Chorus] I left my heart in Santiago But you'll be with me wherever I go You'll be with me wherever I go So I'll wait (yeah)

Sam Setton shared a new song a few days ago and it's absolutely incredible. We're a bunch of suckers when it comes to a strong hook and that's exactly where Sam delivers. In their new single, 'Santiago' the artist sings and harmonizes over glitchy beats with a dark and mysterious undertone of emotions/frustrations. It's all too easy to fall into Sam's world and to feel what Sam is feeling but nonetheless, it's pretty magical.

“Santiago is the most meaningful song I’ve ever written. Although modern sounding, “Santiago” is actually a song 6 years in the making. It’s the story of an ongoing relationship I have with a girl I met while visiting Santiago, Chile 6 years ago. I had initially gone to Santiago to see family and learn about the culture and country my mother grew up in, but I ended up starting a friendship and falling in love with this amazing woman.”

“Over the course of the next 4 years we exchanged drunken texts and voicemails, knowing we couldn’t be together because of logistics, but still showing our love for each other. When I finally sat down to write the song, I found some voice notes we had exchanged, and it really brought me back to that time with her. I was overcome with emotion and wrote the song in a few days. It is for this reason you hear that very voicemail sampled throughout the song.”- Sam Setton
