WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Xelli Island is the latest and greatest to land on our radar. The talented and creative musician is taking on a fresh and laid-back sound that we can’t get enough of. With her new single ‘Fucking Retrograde’, Xelli delivers an experimental psychedelic experience with strong themes surrounding the frustrations tied to mercury being in retrograde. Huge props to Xelli for writing something so original and fun, right?

I think we all want to blame something bigger than ourselves when we feel regret. Writing "Fucking Retrograde" was a way for me to cope with an unexpected wave of unprocessed emotions that hit me extremely hard last summer, when my car was broken down for almost two months. I was walking everywhere in the middle of an LA summer, Mercury was in retrograde, and it felt like the longest couple months of my life. I was finally facing the truth about decisions I made a while back, in the fog of change. — Xelli Island

We have high hopes for Xelli’s future material. In our honest opinion, she’s bringing something interesting and genuine to the table and that’s all we could ever ask for. If you’re looking for a creative spirit from the inside out, Xelli’s ‘Fucking Retrograde’ should be right up your alley.
