WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Every once in awhile an artist lands on our radar that absolutely blows our mind. This time, that certain someone is Katie Buchanan. Her latest is a work of art, titled ‘Twitch’, we immediately fall in love with the guitar melody. As a writer, performer, producer, and guitarist… Katie is a multi-talented artist to her core. The lyrical depth behind her music is pure magic. It’s heartfelt, it’s genuine, and it demands your attention in ways you never thought possible.

We can’t stress enough just how much we love this song and we know you will too once you give it a shot. Add it to your Spotify playlist and be sure to give the artist a follow to stay up to date on any upcoming shows/releases and enjoy!

WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:

""Twitch" is about the kind of anxiety that keeps you up all night, the wordless worries and the fights you forget to have, the teeth grinding insomnia that requires an appointment with your dentist.

As a writer, I wanted to pair jam-packed, twisted lyrics to a cyclical, meditative guitar line: the same way the most dense thoughts fly through your head in the stillest of hours. And as a producer, I wanted to stretch the concept of a guitar-loop pop song: the "loop" here is played live in one take, the instrumental break lives somewhere between melodic synth and brash guitar solo, the drums are both bombastic and contained.

In the end though, "Twitch" is a handful of snapshots: the nights you can't sleep, the days you can't fight, and the space in between when you realize that sometimes that's okay." —
