WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:
“Duality is the main inspiration for this EP. When Thomas White sent me Feather and Drifting I immediately fell an intense feeling of warmth and lightness. Writing about my first love was only intuitive.
Drifting is about period of time when we had to be apart for 4 months only shortly after we started dating. The main hook is “Tell me you’re no simulation, spell me out every vibration from your lips till I’m kissing you again.”; I wanted to communicate how it’s hard to gauge who a person is in the virtual realm - a circumstance that I believe leaches into many relationships these days.
I wrote Feather about totally embracing being in love - touching on the delight and some of the anxiety that it causes to become deeply entangled with someone.
Villain and Petrified are obviously about darker subjects: being wronged, misjudged, having to hold your heart back... pairing these four songs together exhibits two extremes on the spectrum of emotions in relationships, delivering sweetness & bitterness that anyone can relate to.” — Lia
