Denmark's 19-year-old Mekdes shares new single 'Right Direction'

With her own unique soulful and international sound she is ready to break down the wall of sound with the uplifting summer banger “Right Direction”. Mekdes lives and breathes music and has been singing and making music all her life. She finds her inspiration from artists like Dua Lipa, NAO, Demi Lovato, Jorja Smith and Kehlani. Mekdes declined an offer from Warner music and has instead signed a deal with an upcoming independent label, because the creative freedom is so important to her. Here she is a part of the whole process and is able to put her own personal mark on the songs. Mekdes often finds her inspiration on her many bus rides back home from school where she records hooks and melodies on her phone. The hook from Right Direction is written in this same spontaneous way on the bus on a sunny day in April.
