Listen to new Overjoy—'Same'
This new Overjoy record hits the sweet spot for us... Not only is the production exciting but its incredibly unique. The entire soundscape and atmosphere of the track carries over into a luscious palette of sounds and diverse instrumentation. The warm production and catchy vocal work are some of the best work we've heard in a long time and it's easily one of our favorite songs we've covered this month.
“We evolved a lot from Another EP, with “Same” we feel we’ve all gotten just a little bit better at our craft, we are more comfortable and confident. We also learned to compete less and let to let our partners shine when it’s their turn too.. this isn’t always an easy thing to do in bands but we are working at it.. The truth is for us to win nobody else has to lose.. we want to see more artists just going for it and not let society hinder their creativity any longer.. more art and more love in the world is what we all need... we support all artist to keep doing their thing and know u can always get better" - Metty
The production has a hazy vibe to it but without a doubt, it sparks moments of euphoria and excitement throughout the duration of the song. It's probably best that we avoid using labels or genres when describing the track because it's unique and that's what makes the song so special in the first place.
“The song same is 5 minutes and 49 seconds summation of my field notes throughout my walk-about in this lifetime. We all are searching, trying to find our identities, and figure out where they fit into the grand scheme of things. To each of us, this task seems especially personalized and unlike anyone else’s plight. We are trying to translate some peace of mind to our listeners- telling them we all go through the same damn thing.” - Lex
We're pretty confident in the production and we're excited to hear your thoughts on it. The 3-piece group is based out of Los Angeles and made their debut back in 2015. Since then, the group has rapidly grown in popularity, selling out their most recent show in Hollywood.
“We wanted a track that delivers for the dance-floor while bringing a message we can all relate to. Everybody's running from something, but by facing the thing we don't want to look at, we find that there was no problem to begin with.” - Hoff
We're really excited about the song and we hope you love it just as much as we do. Don't forget to connect with the group online to stay up to date on any future releases or updates and enjoy.
